St Monica's College Kabba, West Senatorial District of Kogi State will play host to the PATH Project on International Day of Girl Child, dated Thursday 11th October, 2018 as over 600 girls are prepared to participate in the program. According to the Executive Director of HEAL for Africa Initiative, Dr. Kelechi Okoro, she highlighted that the organization will not only be talking about sexual health and menstrual hygiene, they will be enlightening the girls on their role in nation building. In line with the United Nations’ Global theme: A skilled girl force, This is to increase the girls awareness on the need to build their capacity and acquire skills for employability. An empowered Girl, both in knowledge, capacity and morals.

"The PATH School project is centered around our thought that if young girls are allowed to maximize their potentials they will be transformed into great assets for nation building. In addition being taught about the implications of poor menstrual hygiene to their reproductive health, they will better cater for themselves and be free of distractions emanating from ill health all translating into better self perception and self esteem which enhances their functioning"

The event will feature lectures on Sexual health and menstrual hygiene, as well as talks on Girl Child empowerment and it’s role on nation building. There will be distribution of sanitary pads, deodorants, liquid antiseptics, soaps, tissue papers and many more hygiene products. These have been acquired through personal funding from team members and public donations.
